The Ship

Sequoia is one of sixteen Juniper-class buoy tenders built and commissioned from 1996-2004.[3] She was launched on August 23, 2003 on the Menominee River by Marinette Marine Corporation (MMC) in Marinette, Wisconsin. She replaced the USCGC Sassafras (WLB-401) as the only buoy tender in the Marianas.

The Model

The Hamilton Class is 28 inches long at 1/96 scale. This model was created with a fiberglass hull and gatorboard and plastic structure for strength and lightness to make it easy to carry around for a trade show. The 3D printed parts were measured from a tours of the ships in ports around the United States.

The USS Juniper-class models is a small, easy to handle model that has a lot of detail and looks great on a desk or trade show. The r/c model has a working bow thruster and lights for the bridge and buoy deck.
